Extractions - The Transition
Only When Preservation Is No Longer Possible

Our top priority at D&FD is always to preserve natural teeth whenever possible, as we commonly say: “we never push into the next level treatment unless it’s really necessary.” But when a tooth cannot be saved, or when its presence poses a risk to your oral or overall health, extraction becomes a responsible and necessary step, never a rushed or routine decision.

Extractions, including wisdom teeth, are planned carefully with respect for surrounding bone, gums, and adjacent teeth. When indicated, we use precise techniques and thoughtful aftercare to promote healing and long-term stability.

When replacement is appropriate, options such as implants or other restorations are discussed openly, allowing you to make an informed decision based on health, function, and long-term outcomes.

Important nuance about wisdom teeth:

At D&FD wisdom teeth are not removed by default. They are treated like any other tooth, based on risk and prognosis. Usually with healthy and stable ones, monitoring may be appropriate.

But when a wisdom tooth must be removed due to present or future risk of injury, we use the latest technology and techniques to provide precise surgical extractions and promote optimal healing. This includes tools like CBCT (3D X-rays) and PRF.
